In order to help our Bridge Partners to further their objectives, we are offering assistance in a variety of skills related to the success of non-profits via the Bridge Toolbox Series. These webinars are recorded and archived on our website for public use. 

Many nonprofits derive almost all of their funds from cash gifts. This webinar will discuss alternative fundraising vehicles that can enhance charitable giving and are easy, readily available options for donors.

Julie Sakellariadis '78 and Nick Sakellariadis '73 are the volunteer leaders of planned giving both at Harvard  and at the New York Botanical Garden. Among other topics, they will cover the potential impact of estate gifts, the donation of appreciated securities,  and the power of gifts from IRA’s for those over 70.

    OUR PANELISTS:

    JULIE WILSON SAKELLARIADIS '78

    Julie graduated from Radcliffe College in 1978 and Columbia Business School in 1983. She worked at Chase Manhattan Bank for three years before business school, and at McKinsey & Co. for five years. Since then, she has been involved in several non-profits: Class of 1978 Harvard College Fund Co-Chair; Co-Chair of the John Harvard Society; the New York Botanical Garden (board member for 30 years, past Vice Chair of the board, past chair of Strategic Planning, Science, and Education Committees, currently co-chair (with husband Nick) of the Perennial Society (planned giving); member of the Garden Club of East Hampton (past president); and Chair of the Garden Club of America’s Awards Committee.

    NICK SAKELLARIADIS '73

    Nick is the Executive Chairman of the Dayton Dragons, a minor league affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds baseball team. The Dragons have the longest consecutive sell-out streak in the history of American sports (23 years). Prior to that, Nick had a 35-year career in investment banking at Citigroup-related companies.

    Nick currently serves on the Harvard College Fund Executive Committee, where he was a former Cochair. He is Cochair of the John Harvard Society, fundraising Cochair of the Harvard College Class of 1973, fundraising Cochair of the Harvard Law School Class of 1977, and a member of the Major Gifts Committee of the Harvard Business School Class of 1977. He also served on the Alumni Board of HBS and is a member of the Harvard Alumni Association’s Crimson Society. He has also served in board positions with the New York Botanical Garden, Phoenix Country Day School, Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, and the American Board of Athens College.
