There is considerable interest and a wide range of interests, experience, and expertise among classmates around the topic of the Environment/ Climate Change.
A small work group has had a series of discussions about how ClassACT might create positive change around environmental issues, but we have yet to find major project strategies that are not mere duplications of others’ efforts. To build a ClassACT community interested in addressing environmental concerns, we plan to:
· Re-contact all classmates who have already expressed interest
· Resurvey the class to refresh our understanding of classmates’ interests and willingness to engage through ClassACT
· Develop additional Bridging opportunities related to the environmental (See Bridges tab)
· Stimulate connections between classmates interested in such topics as climate change, land use, food production and food waste; as well as issues such as clean water, ocean acidification, and quiet ocean considerations
